Painting traditional oil-on-canvas portraits from photos. In this case, the photo was pretty good and didn't need a lot of editing. The clothing was simplified and contrast was lowered to enhance faces.

The painting focuses on the people, eliminating the background clutter and giving the image the timeless quality that only an oil painting can provide.
